Privacy & GDPR
The data controller for Translator is LoupZeur OÜ (Estonia, registry no. 17155347).
- The only personal data Translator processes is your email address, used as your account identifier.
- Hosting: the service is hosted by Contabo in Germany (within the EEA).
- Payments are handled by Polar.sh, our payment processor, which stores your billing details (e.g. billing address). Polar keeps European customer data within Europe for GDPR compliance. We do not see or store your card number.
- Authentication is provided by Supabase, our auth subprocessor (hosted on AWS in Ireland, within the EEA), which holds your email (and hashed password, if you use password sign-in).
- This website uses no cookies and contains no tracking or analytics. The extension also signs you in securely without cookies.
- Legal basis: performance of the contract / your consent. Retention: your email is kept while your account is active and deleted on request.
- International transfers: all processing is within the EEA — hosting in Germany (Contabo) and authentication in Ireland (Supabase on AWS).
Terms of Service
- Translator is operated by LoupZeur OÜ (Estonia, registry no. 17155347).
- Translator provides selection-based translation and vocabulary retention. 1 credit = 1 successful translation or exercise. Credits and fees are purchased via Polar.sh and are also subject to Polar's terms.
- Billing model: purchases are one-time payments, not subscriptions; purchased credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Trial: a non-renewable 7-day trial is available once per customer. A payment method is required at sign-up and is charged only when the trial ends, unless cancelled before the end of the trial period.
- Refunds: you may request a refund within 1 month of purchase. The refund equals the amount paid minus Polar.sh's non-refundable processing fee (5% + 50¢) and minus the value of any credits already consumed.
- Acceptable use: no automated abuse, scraping, or resale of Translator output.
- The service is provided "as is." Liability is limited to the fees you paid in the prior 2 months.
- Governing law and jurisdiction: the laws of Estonia.
